Jesse McFadden purchased a 400 acre tract which is recorded on Deed Book A Page 26. This tract is just north of the Mt. Salem Primitive Baptist Church as marked on the map. It is this tract where he resided until his death. This survey below is an additional tract he received in 1830.

Surveyed for Jesse McFadden, assignee of Samuel Wilson, Jesse Moore and Ezekiel Jones, commissioners, fifty acres of land by virtue of a Kentucky Land Office Warrant No. 20115 situated in Laurel County on the East side of the state road and on the head waters of Sandy waters of Laurel River. 

 

Beginning on a flat ridge in the forks of said branch at two hickories corner to a fifty acre survey made in the name of Esom Boling (at A), hence N15 W 20 poles to three black oaks (at B), thence N 70 E32 poles to three hickories (at C), thence S55 E50 poles to a hickory and post oak (at D), thence N 70 E26 poles to a black oak thence S30 poles to a hickory and white oak thence S43 W66 poles to two Spanish oaks thence N40 W44 poles to a white oak and hickory thence S75 W60 poles to a stake thence N40 poles to a poplar hickory corner to Esom Boling survey thence N75 E40 poles to with Boling line to the beginning.

I have highlighted the Mt. Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in the middle of the map since it lies about a half a mile from this survey boundary of Jesse McFadden's.  In this cemetery we find Jesse McFadden's son in law, Joseph W. Jones buried without his wife Lydia.  She is buried approximately five miles east of this survey at Providence Cemetery. The heirs of Joseph W. Jones donated by deed one half acre off of Joseph W. Jones old Home Place for this cemetery. Joseph W. Jones' brother Even is also buried here along with many members and descendants of Joseph.

The middle highlight of course is the tract of land that Jesse McFadden had surveyed.  This parcel is actually south of his original 400 acre tract.

The last hightlight at the bottom is my residence on Hwy 521 in Laurel County approximately five miles from Jesse McFadden's property.
