Don,
Thought you might enjoy some info I found on Carrs @ RootsWeb.com.
Not sure if you want to post this stuff due to possible copyright infringement or something.
Andrew & George were C. Burnett Carr's sons. C. Burnett was George Randolph Carr's brother:
STORY: Andrew & his brother George crashed a party in Chicago. A fight
started & Andrew shot a couple of men. One or both died. He & George left in
a hurry & had a wreck in Cincinnati. George was badly hurt but insisted
that Andrew keep going. George then died a few days later. Andy, so it
was thought, was trying to make it to Toledo, Ohio. He didn't; instead,
he had another wreck & this time he died. (Pat Noble via RootsWeb).
King David Carr was another brother of George Randolph Carr:
WCo from mid-twenties to approximate 50's off and on for about 12 years,
part under Henry Young (I have papers where K D's taking an accused
murderer to FL during June 1923; had a sawmill until 1983; merchant from
1921-1954; hauled coal with a team of mules and wagon with Daddy riding
with him (Daisy was already dead at this time). Leased his store for five
years to Mrs B F Campbell on 4/3/1954
STORY: Was guardian for Ota, Golda, Benjamin and Mary Alsip during July
1935-Mar
1941. Probably started before that because the papers I have state that
the prior statement was made on 7/29/1935
RELIGION: Was a Campbellite and probable member of the KKK
QUEST: King had nephews in Illinois (WHO?) and joked about Illinois's
"Carr Biscuit Co" being his; supposedly worked some in Indiana WHEN?
