General:
In the 1860 Laurel County Kentucky Census John George, age 27 is living with his wife Elizabeth, age 22. Also in the household is Elizabeth's mother Sally Ruth McFadden and Woodfin George, age 7 who was born in North Carolina and Martha G. George age 5 who was also born in North Carolina.
These children possibly from a previous marriage of John A. George.
Between 1857 and the February 1859 marriage of John A. George to Elizabeth McFadden it appears that Ansel George, his wife Sarah and their twelve children, including John A. George, migrated from Yancey County, North Carolina to Laurel County, Kentucky. In addition it appears that two grandchildren as listed above also migrated with them. Ansel's two oldest children may not have migrated to Laurel County.
1868. Between the births of Mollie and Mary Ellen it seems that John and Elizabeth McFadden George migrated from London, Laurel County, Kentucky to Prairie County, Arkansas.

In this census entry there is a John George who states he was born in North Carolina. Also in the household is Elizabeth, age 29 who was born in Kentucky. Children Nancy J., age 9, Alabama, age 5, William, age 4 and Mary age 1 are all in the household and are listed as having been born in Kentucky.

In this 1880 census entry there is a John H. George who states he is 49 years old is a farmer. He and both of his parents were born in North Carolina. His wife Elizabeth is 35 years old and keeps house. She states she was born in Kentucky. Her father was born in South Carolina and her mother was born in Kentucky. Their children are listed as follows; Alabama George, age 18, born in Kentucky, James W. George, age 15, born in Kentucky, who could have been listed as William in the 1870 Census, Mollie, age 13, born in Kentucky, who also did not show up in the 1870 Census, Ellen age 11, Jarrett(?) age 7, Lee age 4, and a two year old son named Glen(?)
I think a couple of things are significant here. One is that John lists his name clearly as John H. George where I have his middle initial as being A. The most important thing is that Elizabeth lists her father as being born in South Carolina.
Some members of the George family state that John and Elizabeth's sons, at least Lee, migrated to Oklahoma.
