Notes
General:
The couple lived on Brown Creek in Whitley County, Kentucky.

Easter applied for a widow's pension on February 7, 1872 in Whitley County, Kentucky.

Spelling of last name changes back and forth from "Karr" to "Kerr" then to "Carr". Search all spellings. Also need to search records in Lincoln County, Kentucky courthouse since Whitley County had not been formed from Lincoln.

Samuel served in the War of 1812 in the Tennessee Militia, enlisting or being drafted on September 20, 1814 in White County, Tennessee. He served as a Private in Captain Asahel Raines Company of the Tennessee Militia. He fought at the battle of Horseshoe Bend in Alabama and was honorably discharged on April 20, 1815. His place of discharge was Camp Manuel near Mobile, Alabama or near Fort Mims and Lake Easter.

Samuel married Easter Johnson on February 28, 1813 in the Knox County, Kentucky at the home of her father, William Johnson. Samuel died on April 13, 1871 and his wife Easter died six years later on May 18, 1877.

Samuel and Easter's twelve children were, William, Matthew Ervin, Sarah "Sally", Margaret, Andrew J., Susan, Hugh Floyd, Easter, Samuel Jr., Mary J., Rebecca and Harvey.

Samuel's place of birth appears to be either Tennessee or Kentucky. The 1840 Census shows a male aged 70-80 and a female aged 60-70 living in his household.

Most of this part of the family buried in Carr Cemetery and at Mt Pisgah Cem, Yaden, Whitley, Kentucky. All in and around Williamsburg or Meador Creek. Yaden (92 E from Williamsburg then HWY 904 across river. Cemetery on right side of church.
