General:

Jesse Carr entered the Methodist ministry in 1929. His first appointment was the Grays Charge composed of five churches. Other churches served were the Science Hill Circuit, Berea, London, Perryville, Carlisle, Lynch and Harlan. He retired from the Harlan Church in 1968 and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where he served several years as an associate pastor of the St. Andrews Methodist Church.

Jesse enlisted in the Army on June 8, 1917 and arrived overseas on October 9, 1918 during World War I. Sgt. M. G. Co. 305 Inf.
