In 1860 Census shows the couple living with two sons in Union County, Illinois.
In 1870 Census the couple lives in Whitley County with five kids.
Live on Bark Creek Camp Mills in Whitley County, Kentucky. This is just across Laurel River from Bald Rock.
Hugh Floyd Carr and his wife Matilda Mayfield (Smith?) were both born in Kentucky. Married in 1843. Hugh Floyd may have had one great uncle living in Illinois. His great uncle James, (son of Mathew and Susannah) appears to have died in Illinois in 1870. The couple have seven children:
Eliza, Samuel, John M., Ellet Carr, Madison Floyd, Almeda, Samuel Hugh and Martha.
By 1870, the Census shows they are back in Whitley County with 5 kids living on Bark Camp Creek Mills in Whitley County, Kentucky. Hugh possibly deeds land in 1871 and dies same year. Matilda's name shows up as Smith, as Mayfield and as Matilda Smith Mayfield. She also appears to remarry after Hugh's death.
In 1850 Hugh Floyd and Matilda lived with two kids next door to his father Samuel in Whitley County, Kentucky. They are still in Whitley County in 1854 because Madison Floyd is shown as being born in Whitley County. Their son, Samuel is born in Union County, Illinois in 1863.
Hugh Carr may have died in Union County, Illinois. Two children die as infants. Some other children seem to stay in Illinois. One boy "Samuel Hugh"
