General:

By the 1900 Laurel County, Kentucky Census Nancy is a widow and is living with her three sons, David, 20, Edward, 15 and Westerfield, age 11. She states she has borne eight children, seven of whom are still living as of this Census.

Nancy's tombstone says she was born on February 29, 1843. There was no 29th in 1843 so I changed date back one day. Someone at bootswan@hotpop.com has added a PostEm on the internet saying her actual birth date is February 29, 1852 and further says that Nancy Young was her gg grandmother.

Who was Nancy? Was she married prior to her marriage to Wes? The Laurel County School Census lists Phobe's last name as Young in 1895. Was Phobe not a daughter of Wes but actually a step-daughter?[chesnut.ged]

According to the grave marker Nancy's death date is February 29, 1843. 1843 was not a leap year so either the day or the year is possibly wrong.
