General:

Note: Maranda was impregnated by her stepfather, Hiram Whitis, when she was about 14. She delivered a son who took his mother's last name and grew up with the name of Frank Parker/Parkey. He later married Addie McFadden. When Frank learned the name of his father, he changed his name to Frank Whitis.

"Well the information you found about Frank Whitis is true. I don't know how old Maranda was at the time for sure when he was born...but she did have a son by Hiram named Frank. In fact I am in contact with Frank's granddaughter. I don't think Hiram really acknowledged Frank for quite some time...probably while his wife Malinda was still alive. After all....he was married to Malinda when Maranda had Frank. In the copy I have of Hiram's will, he didn't mention Frank at all, but he did leave his house and land to Maranda as long as she stayed single. She never did marry. And eventually Frank Whitis did end up with Hiram's house I believe. It was through Frank's granddaughter that I was able to get several Whitis family pictures that had belonged to Hiram and then to Frank.

I found out about it about 10 yrs ago from one of the Whitis family members."
