This Westerfield also seems to have been known as "J. W. McFadden"

1844. Westerfield first appears on the tax rolls of Laurel County, Kentucky having one horse or mare and one head of cattle.

1848. Westerfield marries Mary Ann Williams on February 7th in Laurel County, Kentucky.

1850. In Laurel County, Kentucky Census Westerfield is 23 years old and living with his wife Mary.

1860. In Laurel County, Kentucky Census Westerfield is a 33 year old farmer living with his wife Mary. The following children are in the household: Abraham age 9, John age 7, Rachel age 5 and Ruth Ann age 2.

1870. In Laurel County, Kentucky Census Westerfield is a 43 year old farmer living with his son Abe, age 19, son John age 15, daughter Rachel age 14, daughter Barbara age 9, daughter Lucindy age 6 and son Jesse age 4.

1880. In Laurel County, Kentucky Census Westerfield is a 52 year old farmer living with his daughter Lucinda age 15, his son Jesse age 13, Nancy Young a 28 year old "hireling", a Daughter of Nancy's named Phebe Young, age 3 and son of Nancy's named David Young, less than one year old. Westerfield's wife Mary who was in the household in 1860 is not listed in the household in 1870 or 1880.

1895. Laurel County School Census for District 7 and taken on April 3rd lists "Febie" Young as a 17 year old female. I'm assuming this is Phebe Young. See "Branches of Laurel Volume IV Number 1. Renee Beets".
