Roy Benge
Roy E. Benge, 51, 246 Bond Ave., died Thursday at 2 p.m. in Mercy Hospital.
Born in Richmond, Ky., he was a son of Everett and nannie Stewart Benge.
He had been employed as manager of American Sanitary Laundry and most recently was manager of Miami Model Laundry for 20 years, retiring in 1977.
Mr. Benge was a charter member of the Freedom Baptist Church and was assistant Sunday school superintendent and song director of that church.
In 1947 he married Mary Jane Harkleroad in Newport, Ky.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Benge, Hamilton; daughter, Mrs. Keith (Deborah) Wolfe, Hamilton; five sons, Robert Benge, Franklin, James Benge, Russell Benge, Roscoe Benge, and Foster Benge, all of Hamilton; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Conway and Mrs. Lorene Smith, both of Berea, Ky.; grandson.
Services Monday at 10 a.m. at the Freedom Baptist Church, with burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Visitation Sunday 4 to 8 p.m. at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., and Monday 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the memorial fund of the Freedom Baptist Church.
