General:
1844. Chapman McFadden first appears on the tax rolls of Laurel County, Kentucky. Having one horse or mare and seven head of cattle.
1850. Laurel County Census shows Chapman having three members of the Quanles(?)family in his household. Bunstall age 66, Permelia age 54, and Brent age 19 are listed in Chap's home with Burnstall(?) listed as the "Judge of the Circuit". Chapman's wife or child do not show up here in this Census. Look again at page 7A of 1850 Census.
The October 5, 1888 edition of the Mountain Echo reported that, "Uncle Chap McFadden, an old and respected citizen of this county, died a few days ago."
Chapman's will is recorded in the Laurel County, Kentucky County Court Clerk's Office at Will Book 4 Page 187-188. Will dated September 1, 1888 and names the following children, William, Elizabeth, Angeline Martin, Martha Martin, Harry, George and Nancy.
I have added another child. Harvey Hubbard. On Harvey Hubbard's Death Certificate which shows he died on May 4, 1914 his parents are listed as Chapman McFadden and Leatie Gray. Says his birthdate is unknown but he's approximately 72 years old. Informant on Death Certificate at Kentucky.
